How to create new or copy an existing package
How to Copy an Existing Package
-
Go to the Insala website.
-
You can browse information about our products here.
-
If you need to log into your system, use the login button on the site.
-
We’re going to start by copying an existing package so you can create one with a new design or updated resources.
Access the Administration Side
-
From the homepage of the user side, make sure you’re logged in as an administrator.
-
In the upper left corner, click on Administration.
-
This will switch you to the administration side of the system.
Open the Package Manager
-
On the Admin Home Page, you’ll see various tools to run your program or customize the system.
-
Under Administration, find Package Manager.
-
Click Package Manager to see the list of existing packages in your system.
View and Create Packages
-
The list shows all packages currently in your system.
-
To make a brand-new one from scratch, click Create a New Package at the top.
-
This will open a blank package for you to build.
Create a Blank Package or Copy an Existing One
-
For a blank package, click Create a New Package and give it a name (e.g., “Test”).
-
Choose your settings: language, skin, and horizontal or vertical layout.
-
Click Save — your empty package is ready to build from scratch.
-
If you don’t want to start from zero, you can fill out the package info and then copy settings from an existing package instead.
Copy an Existing Package
-
To copy a package, find it in the list of packages.
-
On the right side of that package, click Save As.
-
Confirm the labels and save — this creates a direct copy of the package.
-
Note: This method is quick and keeps all existing settings.
Test and Edit Your New Package
-
If you created a new package and want to see it from the user side, move your test user into that package.
-
Once you click on the package, you’ll see all the available tools.
-
From here, you can edit and customize it to create your new design or program.
